Abstract
Organizational commitment is a formal membership that includes an attitude like
the organization and willingness to seek high levels of effort for the interests of
the organization for the achievement of organizational goals. The purpose of
organizational commitment is the efforts made by members of the organization
in achieving the vision and mission of the organization. This study aims to
examine the effect of transformational leadership style and job satisfaction on
organizational commitment. The data used are primary data in the form of
questionnaires filled by employees of Bank BUMN and Bank BPD Batam City.
Sampling method using purposive sampling technique. Analyzer used is multiple
linier regression analysis and partial test (t statistic test). The result of this study
found that transformational leadership style has positive and significant influence
to organizational commitment. Job satisfaction has a positive and significant
impact on organizational commitment. Further research is expected to add other
independent variables that are suspected to have an effect on organizational
commitment and expand the banking sector so that the results of the research
not only have implications for the BUMN and BPD sectors but also have
implications for other banks in different sectors and take into account the size of
the company and see its impact on further research results.
