Abstract
This study aims to examine the effect of ownership structure on the performance
of manufacturing companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange period 2011-
2015. And also population in this research is all manufacturing company ever
registered in Bursa Efek Indonesia period 2011-2015. The sample was taken by
using purposive sampling method, and obtained 31 companies as sample in this
research. Then the method used in this research use simple linear regression. In
addition, the results of this study indicate that foreign ownership positively affects
the company's performance (ROA). Family ownership negatively affects company
performance (ROA). Managerial ownership, institutional ownership, and
government ownership have no effect on company performance (ROA). While
foreign ownership positively affects the company's performance (Tobin's Q).
Managerial ownership and government ownership negatively affect the
company's performance (Tobin's Q). Intitutional ownership and family ownership
have no effect on company performance (Tobin's Q). Manufacturing companies
that want to achieve optimal performance need to increase family ownership
variables, managerial ownership, and government ownership and reduce foreign
ownership variables. The conclusion for further research is that further research
should add another independent variable that is likely to affect the company's
performance.
