Abstract

Security factor is the most important factor in electrical installation related to humans and electronic devices caused by leakage current. Electricity is very dangerous if humans are exposed to active electricity without any protection. In general, leakage current is secured by ELCB (Earth Leakage Circuit Breaker) installed in house installation. This research aims to created protection system in house installation as a safety if humans are touched by an active electric current and prevent or limit damage to the network and its devices due to a leakage current. This research uses TRIAC circuit with 20mA capacity as replacement for ELCB. The difference readings of the two current sensors installed on the TRIAC circuit are 10mA to 50mA. Difference reading of two current sensors installed in TRIAC circuit ≥ 20mA does not effect in TRIAC circuit because there has been no leakage current. The TRIAC circuit works as a circuit breaker when a leakage current is ≥ 20mA and reactivated with a push button.
