Abstract

It’s our need to have information quickly and easily have become a staple of the community, especially among students. One of the required information at this time is to need for geographic information. Every each Batam Polytechnic students have a wide variety of information related to the geographic location of region of origin they are. Therefore, it is necessary to build an application on the distribution of students in the form of maps and WebGIS. So the distribution of information that the student's home area if it can be managed properly, then the leader can know the grouping formed by the distribution of the student's home area, that can support informed decision-making related to the decision campus programs. The method used to make the Distribution of Students According to the Home School (Case Study: Business Management) is a web-based mapping (WebGIS). The software is used, among others, Quantum GIS, PHP and MySQL. This system can display maps and location information of the school and the position of the user in the form of analog maps and online maps, geographic information displays a visual representation of the distribution of Batam Polytechnic students by the school of origin.
