Abstract

There is an assumption that students who scored high GPA likely originated from a student who gets high marks when take the entrance exam. To prove this assumption conducted research to prove the existence of a relationship between the value of the entrance exam to the GPA, as well as the influence entrance exam scores to the GPA. This final project uses data values Batam Polytechnic Entrance Exam (UMPB) and GPA in 2012. The method used to model the relationship between values and value UMPB GPA is multiple linear regression and formulas that have resulted from these methods: y = 1,856 + 0,0021(x1) + 0,0081(x2) – 0,0013(x3). After calculating the correlation coefficient of the data processed, value UMPB have strength enough correlation to the GPA. For the calculation of the coefficient of determination value UMPB affects approximately 21.8% of the GPA.
