| dc.description.abstract | There is an assumption that students who scored high GPA likely originated from a student who gets high marks when take the entrance exam. To prove this assumption conducted research to prove the existence of a relationship between the value of the entrance exam to the GPA, as well as the influence entrance exam scores to the GPA. This final project uses data values Batam Polytechnic Entrance Exam (UMPB) and GPA in 2012. The method used to model the relationship between values and value UMPB GPA is multiple linear regression and formulas that have resulted from these methods: y = 1,856 + 0,0021(x1) + 0,0081(x2) – 0,0013(x3). After calculating the correlation coefficient of the data processed, value UMPB have strength enough correlation to the GPA. For the calculation of the coefficient of determination value UMPB affects approximately 21.8% of the GPA. | en_US |
| dc.description.abstrak | Ada asumsi bahwa mahasiswa yang mendapat nilai IPK tinggi kemungkinan besar berasal dari mahasiswa yang mendapat nilai tinggi saat mengikuti ujian masuk.Untuk membuktikan asumsi tersebut dilakukan penelitian untuk membuktikan ada tidaknya hubungan antara nilai ujian masuk terhadap nilai IPK, serta ada tidaknya pengaruh nilai ujian masuk terhadap nilai IPK. Tugas akhir ini menggunakan data nilai Ujian Masuk Politeknik Negeri Batam (UMPB) dan nilai IPK tahun 2012. Metode yang digunakan untuk memodelkan hubungan antara nilai UMPB dan nilai IPK adalah regresi linier berganda dan rumus yang telah dihasilkan dari metode tersebut : y = 1,856 + 0,0021(x1) + 0,0081(x2) – 0,0013(x3). Setelah melakukan perhitungan koefisien korelasi terhadap data yang diolah, nilai UMPB mempunyai kekuatan hubungan korelasi yang cukup terhadap nilai IPK.
