Abstract
Plastic material is a material that is widely used
by humans in everyday life such as food wrappers, drinks,
molds and so on. Along with economic development, plastic
is now even starting to be used in industry as one of the
components to replace metal as the main material in a
defense (Alutsista). Injection molding is a process of
melting thermoplastic material that is melted in a mold.
Injection molding plays a very important role in the plastic
industry today, where every industry expects a product to
have the best quality with a high and efficient production
rate. From the research that has been done to improve
product quality from injection molding results is to use the
root cause analysis method or process that has occurred
before. Improving product quality by conducting trials of
injection melting temperature settings, where the
parameters made constant are injection pressure, cooling
time, and mold temperature. Usually, the lower the melting
temperature setting, the more defects such as short mold,
dirty, yellowish. In this process the author plunges into
field production directly using various machines but the
author decides to take samples of SE50EV- and Shell
Connector machines to identify the types of rejects that
often occur during the process. During the process, reject
samples will be collected to examine how many and what
types of rejects often occur in the company. This test is
carried out by giving the same treatment to each sample to
be tested, only the amount of injection is different. And this
process is also carried out to find the optimal parameters
for testing parameters against NG rejects that affect the
product.
