Abstract

Reject material handling in the Incoming Quality Control (IQC) department is an important process to ensure product quality and production continuity in electronics manufacturing. At PT XYZ Indonesia, reject material tracking was previously performed manually using spreadsheets and email communication, resulting in delayed status updates, fragmented information, and limited monitoring of case progress. This study aims to analyze the reject material tracking process before and after the implementation of the existing Quality Info web-based system in the IQC department of PT XYZ Indonesia, identify the root causes of inefficiencies in the previous manual process, and evaluate the improvements achieved after the implementation of the existing system. The research employed Root Cause Analysis (RCA), Fishbone Diagram analysis, field observations, and historical reject material data analysis. The results showed that the major causes of inefficiency were manual tracking procedures, the absence of an integrated monitoring system, and inconsistent data management. The evaluation results indicate that the existing Quality Info web-based system provides centralized data management, real-time status monitoring, structured action tracking, and complete historical records. The implementation of the existing system improves process traceability, enhances communication among related departments, and increases the efficiency of reject material handling. Overall, the study demonstrates that the implementation of the existing Quality Info system addresses many of the limitations of the previous manual process and supports better quality management within the IQC department.
