Abstract

The auto-cutting and crimping process is a critical stage in wire harness manufacturing because it affects the quality and reliability of electrical connections. One of the primary defects is “strand out” at the terminal, which can result in imperfect terminal crimping and reduce product quality. This study aims to analyze the causes of this defect using Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA) and Root Cause Analysis (RCA) on the JN07SDW machine. FMEA is used to identify failure modes and determine risk priorities, while RCA is used to identify root causes. Based on the analysis results, corrective actions are proposed in the form of modifications to machine components and adjustments to process parameters.
