Abstract
The traffic congestion is one of the important problems to be solved, it is often the
case in cities with dense population levels. Not only densely populated, but the density of
the vehicle also followed the growth of population. An effective control system on the
traffic light system is urgently needed for now. With a growth rate of transportation every
year, make us tend to choose to avoid traffic jams, one of the solutions is to make a traffic
light system which more effective in giving amount of time the light turned green. Like
this research, that traffic light system created using fuzzy logic to generate an output based
on the results of field testing or estimate precisely, with responding two inputs, the RTC
(Real-Time Clock) as an indicator of the time and Infrared as a length indicator queue
congestion, then the results of the two inputs fuzzyfication will generate output ignition
delay on green light to give the fair traffic light system. The results of experiment showed
the system in accordance with objectives to be achieved in the effectiveness of ignition
traffic light system on green light and make the lighting more efficient and optimum.
