Abstract
Current technological developments encourage innovation in optimizing water pump performance to meet clean water needs. The PID (Proportional Integral Derivative) control method has been widely used to increased the efficiency of water pump. A new idea is proposed in this research, namely "Suction Pump DC Motor Speed Control System" with PID implementation which can be accessed via smartphone application. The flow sensor is used as feedback to ensure the water output is in accordance with the specified setpoint. Flow sensor testing was carried out using a K24 flow meter as a comparison. Test results show a good level of accuracy, with some flows requiring further attention to improve precision because based on testing the sensor error value has a range of 0 to 8.3%. The system response to setpoint shows moderate risetime and significant overshoot in some cases. Adjustment are needed to increase setting time and reduce overshoot to improve control system performance. The smartphone app provides flexibility and ease of access, enabling efficient and effective control of the water pump. Overall, this system offers a reliable and convenient solution for meeting clean water needs with precise control.
