Abstract

The pre-service stage of the B-FAST core system at the Directorate of Airport Area Management (DPKB) of BP Batam currently faces operational challenges, including decentralized information regarding requirements, authentication issues (login loops), suboptimal data history management, and a heavy reliance on manual verification via WhatsApp. This study aims to develop and evaluate the effectiveness of the Batam AeroCity Service Information System as a supporting system for the airport area's pre-service stage. The system was developed using the Agile-Scrum methodology, while its effectiveness was evaluated through a quasi-experimental quantitative approach utilizing a One-Group Pre-Test and Post-Test design. The study involved 31 respondents designated Points of Contact (PICs) from airport partner companies selected via total sampling. Data collection relied on a 1–5 Likert scale questionnaire to consistently measure variables such as ease of use, clarity, and process flow efficiency before (pre-test) and after (post-test) the system intervention. Descriptive statistical analysis revealed a significant surge in the overall mean score, rising from 1.16 in the pre-test stage to 4.93 in the post-test stage. Furthermore, inferential hypothesis testing using the Wilcoxon Signed-Rank Test yielded a calculated statistic of T = 0, a Z-score of -4.86, and a significance value (p-value) of < 0.001. Since the p-value was less than 0.05, the Null Hypothesis (H₀) was rejected, and the Alternative Hypothesis (H₁) was accepted. These results empirically demonstrate that the implementation of the Batam AeroCity Service Information System significantly improves information flow efficiency, resolves pre-service technical obstacles, and enhances user operational independence during the pre-service stage prior to accessing the B-FAST core transaction system.
