Implementation of Program Debugging and Electrical System Installation on PLC and HMI Based Automatic Single Axis Screwing Robot in Industry

| dc.description.abstract | The development of the manufacturing industry demands the implementation of automation systems to improve efficiency, accuracy, and consistency in production processes, especially in repetitive and high-precision screwing processes. Manual processes have limitations in productivity and carry the risk of human error, thus requiring a robotic-based automation system. This study aims to design, implement, and perform program debugging and electrical system installation on an automatic single-axis screwing robot based on a Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) and Human-Machine Interface (HMI). The research methods include system design, electrical installation according to industrial control panel standards, PLC programming, and debugging, as well as system integration with HMI as a monitoring and control medium. Testing was conducted through functional system testing, wiring and electrical testing, HMI testing, screwing precision testing, cycle time testing, system reliability testing, and safety testing. The results of the study indicate that the system is capable of operating automatically with stable performance, good screwing precision, and a safety system that functions according to specifications. Based on reliability testing using the Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) method, an efficiency value of 70.93% was obtained. Thus, this PLC- and HMI-based single-axis screwing robot system has been proven to improve the efficiency, reliability, and quality of the assembly process in the manufacturing industry. | |
