Abstract

The manual tool request system at PT. XYZ often causes waiting time waste and delays in production, hindering process smoothness and reducing equipment readiness. This problem is rooted in the reliance on manual user input. Responding to these constraints, this study introduces the integration of an Auto Request dashboard into the Tooling Management System (TMS). This feature automates tool requests based on the integration of production schedule data with the Work Order system. This study aims to analyze the impact of Auto Request on TMS workflow changes using a qualitative approach and Value Stream Mapping (VSM). VSM maps the process conditions before (Before State) and after (After State) implementation. The analysis results show that the application of Auto Request totally eliminates waiting time (100% NVA reduction), reduces lead time from 35 minutes to 20 minutes, and successfully increases Process Cycle Efficiency (PCE) from 57.14% to 100%. This system implementation is proven to provide significant added value to the smoothness of work processes and support a more responsive work culture.
