Abstract
Smart tv contribute 21.34% of total vulnerabilities in IoT devices, which makes them one of the vulnerable targets of cyberattacks. The purpose of study to analyze and measure the level of information security awareness among smart tv users in performing operating system updates and to analyze the relationship between users’ knowledge and attitudes when performing smart tv operating system updates. The study uses a quantitative associative approach with a sample of 120 smart tv users selected through purposive sampling. Data collection was performed using a questionnaire. The study found abnormal distribution of the data subsequently, Spearman’s correlation approach was used to analyze the relationship between each independent variable and the dependent variable., while multiple linear regression was still used because the normality of the residuals was fulfilled and heteroscedasticity was addressed using robust standard errors. The study results show that 45% of users are in the category of poor information security awareness. Spearman’s correlation shows that attitude has a strong and significant relationship with behavior (correlation coefficient 0.786; Sig. <0.001), while knowledge had only a weak but significant relationship (correlation coefficient 0.321; Sig. < 0.001). The F test result show knowledge and attitude simultaneously had a significant effect on behavior (F = 100.048; Sig. < 0.001; Adjusted R² = 0.625). However, when analyzed partially, only attitude had a significant effect (B = 0.851; Sig. < 0.001), whereas knowledge did not (B = -0.118; Sig. = 0.071). These findings indicate the existence of a knowledge-behavior gap, in which having good cybersecurity knowledge does not necessarily lead to good update behavior.
