Abstract

This study aims to design and analyze the development of low-poly 3D assets for the Virtual Reality (VR)-based Barelang Racing Track project using regular polygon techniques. The research focuses on the Barelang Bridge model as an icon of Batam City, which was constructed using basic shapes such as hexagons, quadrilaterals, and curves. The method used is a descriptive qualitative approach through observation, documentation, literature review, and interviews. The research process includes collecting references, planning the shape, 3D modeling using Blender software, as well as evaluating the visual quality and performance of the assets. The results of the study indicate that the application of low-poly techniques utilizing simple geometric shapes can produce 3D assets that are efficient in terms of polygon count, lightweight for rendering, and still maintain visual fidelity to the original object. Thus, this technique is considered effective for asset development in VR game environments that require a balance between visual quality and performance.
