Pembuatan Video Informatif Proses Penyebaran Informasi Publik Oleh Humas Diskominfo Kota Batam Melalui Media Digital

Abstract

This study developed and evaluated an informative video that explains the process of disseminating public information by the Public Relations division of the Batam City Communication and Information Office through digital media. This research was conducted due to the need for a communication medium that not only presents the final output of publications but also illustrates the stages of planning, information gathering, processing, and distribution of government information to the public. The product was created using the Villamil-Molina multimedia development method consisting of five stages: development, pre-production, production, post-production, and delivery. The evaluation was carried out through alpha testing involving three material experts and three media experts, as well as beta testing with 30 respondents from the Batam City community using the EPIC Model (Empathy, Persuasion, Impact, Communication). The material expert evaluation yielded an average score of 4.78, classified as highly feasible, and the media expert evaluation resulted with a mean score of 4.43, also classified as highly feasible. Furthermore, the beta testing produced an EPIC Rate of 4.56, indicating a very effective category. These findings demonstrate that the developed informative video is suitable for use and effective as a public communication medium, as it helps the public better understand the process of disseminating official government information through digital media.
