Abstract

The availability of clear service information plays an important role in helping passport applicants understand the collection procedure before visiting the Immigration Office. This study aimed to produce an informational video presenting the passport collection process at the Class II TPI Tanjung Balai Karimun Immigration Office as an accessible public information medium. The development process adopted the Multimedia Development Life Cycle (MDLC), covering the stages of concept, design, material collecting, assembly, testing, and distribution. Product evaluation was conducted qualitatively through observations and interviews involving three immigration officers and twelve passport applicants. The findings indicate that the developed video accurately reflects the official passport collection procedure and presents the information in a clear, systematic, and easily understandable manner. The combination of live-action footage, narration, subtitles, and supporting visual elements enables applicants to follow each stage of the service process before arriving at the office. Overall, the video was considered appropriate as a public information medium that supports passport collection services and improves applicants' understanding of the procedure.
