Abstract

This research focuses on the implementation of motion graphics for the opening bumper of the Batam State Polytechnic profile video using the Multimedia Development Life Cycle (MDLC) method. Conventional profile videos relying solely on live-action footage often struggle to communicate complex academic and facility data dynamically. To address this, motion graphics elements were designed. Based on the current progress and evaluation, the output of this research is specifically focused on the completion of the opening bumper, which represents approximately 10% of the overall product. The MDLC phases executed in this scope encompass concept, design, material collecting, assembly, testing, and distribution for the bumper asset. During the assembly phase, a Victus laptop was utilized to ensure stable rendering and keyframing of the motion graphics assets. The final asset was evaluated through Alpha testing by media and material experts. To ensure consistency and honesty, the documentation and evaluation in this paper are strictly based on the completed bumper asset, proving its feasibility as the initial visual element for the institution's profile video.
