Factors - factors influencing the interest of batam city community in using private pawning

Abstract

The increasing number of private pawnshops in Batam City has provided the public with more financing service options. This condition requires each company to understand various factors that can influence public interest in choosing private pawnshop services. This study aims to test the influence of trust, service quality, service convenience, and service costs on public interest in using private pawnshop services in Batam City. This research applied a quantitative approach with a survey method by distributing questionnaires to respondents who meet the research criteria. The analysis results show that trust, service quality, service convenience, and service costs each have a positive and significant influence on public interest. Furthermore, simultaneous testing demonstrates that all independent variables collectively have a significant impact on public interest in using private pawnshop services in Batam City. The findings indicate that increasing public trust, providing high-quality service, ease of service processes, and affordable costs are important factors in driving public interest in utilizing private pawnshop services. The results are expected to provide input for companies to improve service quality and serve as a reference for future research.
