Abstract

The sea water cooling system on a tugboat functions to maintain engine temperature stability during operation. This study aims to determine the process of pipe fitting and pipe support installation on the sea water cooling system in the engine room of a tugboat. The research method used is a qualitative method through direct field observation. Data collection was carried out through observation of work processes, documentation, isometric drawings, and Material Take Off (MTO). Observations were conducted during the material and tool preparation stage, the pipe fitting and piping component alignment process, and the installation of pipe supports. The results indicate that isometric drawings served as the reference for pipe fitting and support installation, thereby facilitating the seawater cooling system installation and adherence to work procedures; this ensured proper piping alignment, reduced the risk of leaks, and enabled optimal system performance.
