This study focused on developing an interactive learning application for Theodolite using Unity 3D and the Multimedia Development Life Cycle (MDLC) methodology. The application was designed to support Geomatics Engineering students in studying Theodolite components and understanding their functions independently beyond laboratory activities. The development process consisted of six MDLC stages, namely concept, design, material collecting, assembly, testing, and distribution. Three primary features were implemented in the application: Identify Component Parts, Component Spot Test, and Competency Test. The application was distributed in WebGL format, enabling users to operate it directly through a web browser without requiring additional software installation. Content validation was performed by an expert in Terrestrial Surveying and resulted in an average score of 3.50 on a 1–4 scale. This result indicated a high level of content suitability, with the application considered usable after minor revisions. Subsequently, User Acceptance Testing (UAT) involved 32 Geomatics Engineering students to assess their acceptance of the application across five aspects: usability, visualization, learning feature usefulness, learning evaluation, and user satisfaction. The questionnaire demonstrated a high level of reliability, as indicated by a Cronbach’s Alpha value of 0.86. The application obtained an average UAT score of 4.27, corresponding to an overall acceptance rate of 85.38%. This result placed the application in the highest feasibility category and demonstrated positive user acceptance. Therefore, the developed application has the potential to serve as an interactive supplementary learning medium for introducing Theodolite components and their functions. Nevertheless, these findings represent user acceptance only and cannot be interpreted as evidence of improved learning outcomes or student comprehension, since the study did not employ an experimental approach involving pre-test and post-test measurements.
