Abstract

The company used as a case study in this research operates in the field of digital automation and energy management and has opened a branch in Batam. To address waste management, the company adopted a system from its global branch, however, it cannot manage rejected finished goods with reusable components, which are redirected to the dismantling area after inspection. This research aims to develop a web application that enables the monitoring and management of rejected products with reusable components, with the objective providing clear information about the product and the production line rejection come from, tracking the duration of every process, identifying the production lines contributing the highest number of rejects, and classifying dismantled components into reused and scrap categories. This research uses waterfall methodology that includes analysis, design, implementation, testing, and maintenance. Result of this research is a web application that facilitates the dismantling process to reduce time for collecting data, recorded data can be used to analyze current process, improve the accuracy of identifying and quantifying rejected products from production lines to the dismantling area, provide clear traceability for reject, process and line, and enabled classification of dismantled components into reused and scrap categories based on dismantling outcomes. The features of the application have been tested through black box testing to ensure that all functional components operate as intended.
