Abstract
Roby Ansory Yusuf. Design of an Educational Game for Waste management remains an environmental issue that is often neglected by the community, especially in the school environment. The insufficient understanding among students concerning proper waste management directly contributes to environmental degradation. Therefore, an interactive and engaging learning medium is needed to effectively deliver moral messages about cleanliness.
This research focuses on the architectural design and development of a mobile-based educational game named "Pilah Sampah" that teaches the importance of throwing waste in the correct place, specifically targeted for vocational high school (SMK) students aged 15-18. The game was developed using Construct 2 as the game engine, with an educational genre and simple gameplay that guides players to collect and dispose of waste according to its category (organic, inorganic, and hazardous B3 waste). The testing method used was black box testing to ensure all features functioned as designed, as well as user trials (beta testing) conducted with 10 respondents consisting of SMK students and informatics engineering students to assess the game's level of ease of use and usefulness. Based on the test results, all game features
performed well as expected. User evaluations indicated that the game is engaging, easy to play (perceived ease of use), and highly beneficial (perceived usefulness) in increasing players' awareness. Overall, This instructional game has the potential to act as a viable alternative learning tool for cultivating environmental awareness among students.
