Sistem informasi Penerimaan Siswa Baru SMK Ma’arif NU Kota Batam Menggunakan Metode Waterfall

Abstract

This research focuses on the development of a new student admission information system at Ma'arif NU Vocational High School (SMK) Batam City using the waterfall method. This initiative was taken in response to the rapid development of information technology and the need for a more efficient and integrated new student admission system. The conventional system used previously caused a number of obstacles, especially for prospective students from outside the island, as well as inefficiency in the management of registration data. This research aims to design a user-friendly interface, ensure the security of personal data, and provide an automatic notification system for prospective students and parents. The expected benefits of this research include ease and efficiency in the registration process, saving time and effort, reducing data errors, efficient data management, and reducing paper usage. The process analysis is described using the waterfall method. In this modeling there are several stages, namely: needs analysis, system design, implementation, testing and maintenance. This system was developed using PHP with the Laravel framework and for data base management using MySQL.
