PERANCANGAN APLIKASI MARKETPLACE POLIBATAM STORE SEBAGAI PLATFORM E-COMMERCE

Abstract

The promotion and transaction process of campus products at Politeknik Negeri Batam is currently limited, as customers are generally required to visit the physical location to view and purchase products. This limitation hinders effective product promotion, restricts market reach, and reduces transaction efficiency. This study aims to design and develop Polibatam Store, a Web-based Marketplace application that serves as ane-commerce platform for promoting and selling campus products online. The system was developed using the Prototype method, which includes stages of Requirement Identification, Prototype Development, Prototype Evaluation, Refinement, RefinementSystem Testing, and Final Product Development. Data for this study were collected through interviews with the PIC of Polibatam Store, observations of the previous mobile-based system, and a review of relevant literature on e-commerce, Marketplace systems, web application development, Payment gateways, and software testing. The application was implemented using PHP and MySQL, supported by AJAX and REST API to facilitate dynamic data interaction. Key features of the application include user registration, login, product management, product search, shopping cart, checkout, manual transfer payment, Use Case Scenario, order management, transaction history, and password recovery via email-based One-Time Password (OTP). RefinementSystem Testing was carried out using Black Box Testing to verify whether each feature operates according to its Functional Requirements. The results indicate that the main features of the system function correctly and effectively support online product promotion, transactions, payment processing, and product management. Therefore, Polibatam Store offers a digital solution for enhancing product promotion and transaction management within Politeknik Negeri Batam’s Marketplace ecosystem.
