PEMODELAN 3D EKSTERIOR MUSEUM RAJA ALI HAJI KOTA BATAM SEBAGAI UPAYA PELESTARIAN DIGITAL

Abstract

Museums play an important role in preserving cultural heritage; however, limited accessibility and the vulnerability of physical collections present significant challenges. This study aims to develop a 3D model of the exterior of Raja Ali Haji Museum in Batam as a digital preservation medium using the Multimedia Development Life Cycle (MDLC) method. The development process consisted of the concept, design, material collecting, assembly, testing, and distribution stages. The resulting 3D model was evaluated through expert validation and user testing involving Animation Department students at Politeknik Negeri Batam. The evaluation results indicate that the model successfully represents the museum's architectural characteristics and is suitable as a digital preservation and promotional medium, with minor improvements suggested for optimization. The final model was distributed through YouTube in MP4 video format as a digital medium for promotion and preservation.
