PENGEMBANGAN MEDIA VIRTUAL TOUR BERBASIS FOTO PANORAMA 360° PADA WEBSITE POLITEKNIK NEGERI BATAM

Abstract

The development of information technology demands higher education institutions to present campus facility information in a more interactive manner. This study aims to develop a Virtual Tour media based on 360° panoramic photos that can be integrated into the official website of Politeknik Negeri Batam. The research method used Research and Development (R&D) with the ADDIE model (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation). In the Analysis stage, qualitative data obtained from interviews with the Public Relations Office (Humas) was analyzed using Thematic Analysis by Braun and Clarke (2006) to identify user needs. The analysis results showed that existing media (photos and videos) were one-directional and did not allow independent exploration, especially in indoor areas such as laboratories, auditoriums, and practice rooms. The developed Virtual Tour media enables users to perform interactive 360° navigation across 29 campus facility points through an iframe embed mechanism. Evaluation was conducted through direct validation from the Public Relations Office as the client and primary user. The study results indicate that Virtual Tour media can be an effective solution for delivering campus facility information interactively and independently.
