Abstract
Advances in information technology have had a significant impact on various business
sectors, including printer sales, rentals, and repairs. Refill Toner Center (RTC) is a business
engaged in printer sales, printer rentals, toner refills, and printer repair services. Until now,
transaction management has been carried out manually, leading to delays in data processing,
difficulties in inventory management, and inefficiencies in providing customer service.
This study aims to design and develop a web-based Refill Toner Center Information
System using the Laravel framework. The system development method used is the Waterfall
method, which consists of the stages of requirements analysis, system design, implementation,
testing, and maintenance. The system is built using the PHP programming language with the
Laravel framework, a MySQL database, and a web-based interface that can be accessed by both
administrator.
The resulting system has several key features, including user registration and login,
inventory management, purchasing, printer rental, rental period extensions, printer service
requests, payment validation, PDF invoice generation, customer data management, and revenue
reports. System testing was conducted using the Black Box Testing method to ensure that each
function operates in accordance with user requirements.
The research results show that the developed information system is capable of
streamlining transaction management processes, making them faster, more accurate, and more
structured. Additionally, the system makes it easier for customers to make purchases, rent
equipment, or request service without having to visit the location in person. The implementation
of this system also supports the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly Goal 9
(Industry, Innovation, and Infrastructure) through the application of digital technology to
improve service quality, as well as Goal 12 (Responsible Consumption and Production) by
supporting the reuse of toner cartridges and printer maintenance, thereby reducing electronic
waste.
