Abstract
The ATR 72-500/600 aircraft has an icebreaker system or de-icing system which is located on the front wing and also the front propeller. This system functions to break up ice that forms during flights in icing conditions. The aim of this research is to identify the cause of the de-icing airframe fault light on the ATR 72-500/600 aircraft and to find out the steps that need to be taken on the wing de-icer boots system if this occurs. If the airframe fault light is on, then there is a fault, one of which is the de-icer boots. Identification of problems is done by checking the DMI (Deferred Maintenance Item) based on the pilot's report to the mechanic or when checking the aircraft during maintenance. Data collection was carried out using the literature method referring to the ATR 72-500/600 Training Manual. The next step is to replace the wing de-icer boots components. Once the replacement of the components is done, then the next step to do is operational test to determine the problem has been solved. Therefore, it can be concluded that there is a crack on the wing de-icer boots that causes the airframe fault light to turn on.
