Abstract
The crossbleed system is included in ATA Chapter 36, Pneumatic. The pneumatic system functions to provide a
source of compressed air to the anti-ice system, air conditioning, pressurization system, engine starting, and
hydraulic reservoir. The source of the pneumatic system comes from the aircraft engine, APU, and ground air supply.
The Crossbleed Valve is designed to isolate and connect a pneumatic system with another pneumatic system. If there
is a problem with the crossbleed valve system on the aircraft and it is in a state of engine failure, the engine cannot
produce a pneumatic source, so it requires another pneumatic source as a backup source. The purpose of my
research is to analyze the failure of the crossbleed valve system in order to increase understanding and improvement
in this system. This research is based on procedures that have been established by the manufacturer and are
documented in the aircraft maintenance manual (AMM), aircraft wiring manual (AWM), troubleshooting manual
(TSM), and aircraft schematic manual (ASM). This research carries out standardized and industry-tested procedures
to ensure effective and reliable aircraft maintenance and troubleshooting. This research also obtained data through
consultation with certified engineers and experts in the A320-232 type of aircraft. The problem in this study was
discovered based on findings during the aircraft C-check. The research confirmed the system fault through an
operational test by referring to AMM and BMC to check the current status. Fault isolation was performed by
continuity check, ampere check, and power check, identifying the damage to the crossbleed valve selector switch.
Replacement of components according to the part number from the illustrated part catalog was performed to make
the system work normally.
