Development of a Simple Excel Application for Financial Budget Planning at PT Persero, TPK (Container Terminal) Division

Abstract

This study discusses the development of a simple budget planning application created during an internship at PT Persero Batam. The initiative aimed to support financial management by providing a structured approach to monitoring income and expenses within the Terminal Peti Kemas (TPK) division. The budget planning tool was designed using Microsoft Excel with automated features that allow users to create monthly financial targets, track expenditures, and evaluate variances between planned and actual outcomes. The application not only enhanced efficiency in managing operational costs but also served as a practical reference for decision-making in setting sales targets and controlling expenses. The implementation of this budget planning system demonstrates how digital tools can optimize business processes, particularly in improving accuracy, transparency, and accountability in financial reporting.
