dc.descriptionThe city of Batam isone of the cities in the Riau Islands Province that has experienced rapid population growth, which has the potential to increase the level of social vulnerability todisasters. This study aims to calculate the level of social vulnerability in Batam City based on Regulation of the Head of the National Disaster Management Agency(BNPB) No. 2 of 2012. Population density ratios, age group ratios,gender ratios, disability ratios, and low-education ratios were used asproxies for the poverty ratio because the data available at thesubdistrict level is very limited. According to BNPB Regulation No. 2 of 2012, the analysiswas conducted using scoring and weighting methods, and then processed spatially using a Geographic Information System (GIS). The results of the study show that the level of social vulnerability in Batam City is divided into three categories: high vulnerability was found in the subdistricts of Sagulung, Batam Kota, Sekupang, Batu Aji, Lubuk Baja, Batu Ampar, and Bengkong; moderate vulnerability was found in the subdistricts of Sungai Beduk and Nongsa; and low vulnerability was found in the subdistricts of Belakang Padang, Bulang, and Galang.
dc.description.abstractKota Batam merupakan salah satu kota di Provinsi Kepulauan Riau yang mengalami pertumbuhan penduduk cukup pesat sehingga berpotensi meningkatkan tingkat kerentanan sosial terhadap bencana. Penelitian inibertujuan untuk menghitung tingkat kerentanan sosial di Kota Batam berdasarkan Peraturan Kepala Badan Nasional Penanggulangan Bencana (BNPB) Nomor 2 Tahun 2012. Rasio kepadatan penduduk, rasio kelompok umur, rasio jenis kelamin, rasio disabilitas, dan rasio pendidikan rendah digunakan sebagai pengganti rasio penduduk miskin karena data yang tersedia pada tingkat kecamatan sangat terbatas. Menurut Perka BNPB No. 2 Tahun 2012, analisis dilakukan menggunakan metode skoring dan pembobotan, dan kemudian diolah secara spasial menggunakan Sistem Informasi Geografis (SIG). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa tingkat kerentanan sosial di Kota Batam terbagi menjadi tiga kategori: kerentanan tinggi ditemukan di Kecamatan Sagulung, Batam Kota, Sekupang, Batu Aji, Lubuk Baja, Batu Ampar, dan Bengkong; kerentanan sedang ditemukan di Kecamatan Sungai Beduk dan Nongsa; kerentanan rendah ditemukan di Kecamatan Belakang Padang, Bulang, dan Galang.
